If you wish to claim for misselling of PPI (payments protection insurance) or any other financial product then the Financial Ombudsman service can help you .  According to the Financial Times between April 2011 and April 2012 there was a rise of almost 30% in complaints received by the ombudsman service. The biggest part of this increase is represented by complaints over the misselling of payments protection insurance.



During the financial year there were over 150,000 PPI misselling complaints most of which were made by claims management firms on behalf of their clients. However an increasing number of people are handling their own claims.

It is not necessary to make your PPI claim to the ombudsman or to send a PPI template letter to the ombbudsman – you can deal direct with your PPI provider. You also do not have to employ a PPI claims management company to make the claim for you – the Ombudsman Service offer this PPI claim form to enable you to make your claim yourself. The ombudsman also offers an advice line on 0300 123 9123 for people needing guidance on making a PPI refund claim.

If however you would like to make your claim through the ombudsman then you can complete the financial ombudsman ppi claim form. You can also contact them if you are not satisfied by the response you have received direct from your PPI provider.
